Commission for DVLArt, illustrating a story he sent me - which is in fact his childhood memory.
A small fragment from what he wrote:

"To this day I think if I’d been older, if I’d been thirteen, or thirty I’d have dropped dead under the ravens’ gaze. If I’d been younger, five, seven or eight, I’d have come apart and become a handful of ravens. But, at ten, the boy who talked with the wind could look upon the wind’s darkest messengers and, for a moment, stand on magic’s edge."

Please don't repost on tumblr, here's a link to my post.

Watercolour, graphite, white gel pen on 20 x 30 cm watercolour paper.
Soundtrack: Cocteau Twins - Amelia

Beautiful. Talented use of materials, here (I'm practicing watercolors and other traditional media, but I'm nowhere near your level. Yet at least!) Love the fragment from the story as well. Has DVLArt put the story anywhere online? I would love to read it. I understand it if he hasn't wanted to put it anywhere for others to be read, though. :)

Going to look through rest of your gallery now.

I don't know whether he posted the story online, you should go and ask him (: And thank you kindly. I don't like being talented, though, it dismisses all the years I've been training to improve and paint better.

Aw, sorry! I think I used a wrong word here, then? I usually use 'talented' when speaking about someone who has practiced and trained to be good in something, and become talented in that way. (Btw, english is not my native tongue, so I get confused easily!) :)

Talented generally means someone with an extraordinary gift, it's pretty much an opposite to having something due to hard work. It's like, children might have a talent, but what happens next, is a completely different and way more important thing. No harm done, it just gets very tiring to see this word over and over again while it's inadequate.

Thank you for clarifying! Now I'll be more careful when using that word. :)
